Meet Joonas Villanen and Wooli
Joonas Villanen is the CEO and Head of Content at Wooli, a Finland-based content and live production company. He produces live streams, hybrid events, webinars and video podcasts for clients, often in places most crews would rather avoid.
Joonas has been with YoloBox from the start. He owns the original YoloBox, the YoloBox Pro and the YoloBox Ultra, and today the Ultra sits at the heart of most of his productions.
The Challenge: Big-Production Needs, Small-Venue Reality
Before YoloBox, Joonas ran his shows on a Roland VR-1HD video mixer, and later on ATEM switchers paired with OBS. Both could get the job done, but one task kept causing trouble: building custom split screens that showed the presenter and the presentation at the same time.
Macros have since made that easier on traditional setups. The bigger issue was size. A full switcher, encoder, graphics and recording chain takes space, and many of Joonas’s jobs happen in venues where space is exactly what’s missing.
