What’s New in YoloBox Ultra v3.4.0 – LUTs Support, YoloCam Direct Control, New Quick Mode, and More

The YoloBox Ultra 3.4.0 firmware update is now available — and it’s the biggest feature drop we’ve shipped since the Ultra launched. LUTs support brings professional color grading to the integrated hardware streaming encoder workflow. Direct camera controls for YoloCam S3 and S7 (with HSL color adjustment) turn the Ultra into the primary control surface for the entire YoloLiv camera ecosystem. Custom fonts, animated overlays, redesigned Settings, and 12+ smaller workflow improvements round out the release.

LUTs Support

YoloBox Ultra now supports LUT (Look Up Table) files for color grading directly on the device. Load your own LUT files and apply them per input, in real time, without needing to run color correction downstream. For creators publishing branded video content — where a consistent color signature matters — this brings professional post-production color grading into the live streaming workflow.

Import LUT files via SD card or USB. Supported format: standard .cube LUT files. Apply LUTs at the input level or globally to the program output.

YoloCam S3 / S7 Direct Controls

If you’re running a YoloCam S3 or S7 alongside the Ultra, 3.4.0 turns the Ultra into the primary camera control surface. Adjust image settings, exposure, focus behavior, and — new in this release — HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness) color adjustments directly from the Ultra touch screen. No more switching between the camera’s Compose desktop app and the streaming encoder — do everything from the Ultra.

This makes the Ultra + YoloCam combination a genuinely integrated production ecosystem. Adjust color balance mid-stream, tune skin tones during a live broadcast, or dial in the look before you go live — all without leaving the Ultra interface.

Manual Firmware Downgrades

Power users have been asking for this. 3.4.0 adds the ability to manually install any specific firmware version — upgrade to a beta build, downgrade to a previous stable version if a new release doesn’t fit your workflow, or lock to a version that’s certified for a specific event. Files install via SD card or USB from the Settings menu.

New Quick Mode (replaces Monitor Mode)

The previous “Monitor Mode” has been redesigned and renamed to Quick Mode. The new Quick Mode adds single-destination RTMP streaming — so you can go live to one platform with minimal setup, without navigating the full production interface. Useful for spontaneous streams, quick tests, or simple single-camera broadcasts.

All the monitoring capabilities of the previous Monitor Mode remain; Quick Mode is a superset with streaming added.

90-day Scheduled Events for Standard Events

Standard Events (YoloBox Ultra’s scheduled streaming feature) now supports scheduling up to 90 days in advance. Useful for church services planned by season, sports leagues scheduling entire brackets, or event production companies managing recurring corporate broadcasts. Set the schedule once, YoloBox Ultra remembers.

Overlay and visual production improvements

Multiview: border, rounded corners, X/Y position controls

The Multiview layout — used for picture-in-picture, side-by-side interviews, and multi-guest podcast setups — now supports significantly more visual customization:

• Border customization — add colored borders around each source in the multiview layout
• Rounded corners — soften the edges of each source window for a more polished look
• X/Y position adjustment — precisely position each source window on the screen, no longer locked to preset positions

The result: multiview layouts that match your brand aesthetic rather than looking like generic broadcast templates.

Overlay X/Y position control and border customization

Same treatment for overlays (logos, lower thirds, graphics): precise X/Y positioning + border customization. Place overlays exactly where you want them, adjust border color and style, and get pixel-perfect visual composition.

Animated display effects for Overlays and Comments

Overlays and Comments displays can now animate on and off screen — no more static pop-ins. Choose from a set of animation styles (fade, slide, scale) to make graphics and audience comments feel like part of a professional broadcast rather than an afterthought.

Custom font import for Overlay, Comments, and Scoreboard

Import your own font files (TTF/OTF) for use in Overlay text, Comments display, and Scoreboard graphics. Match your brand typography exactly, whether you’re producing church content, sports broadcasts, corporate events, or creator streams. Import fonts via SD card or USB from the Settings menu.

Replay improvements

Fade effects and sortable action lists for Replay

The Replay feature (for sports and live event productions that rewind and re-air moments) gets two workflow improvements:

• Fade effects — replays now fade in and out smoothly rather than hard-cutting, which matches professional broadcast conventions
• Sortable action lists — during a game or event, you can reorder marked replay moments in the queue, so you can prioritize the most important plays for playback

Workflow and system improvements

Audio Mixer: long-press to reorder channels

Long-press any channel in the Audio Mixer to reorder it in the mix. Useful when you have many audio sources and want to group them by importance or by physical setup order.

Drop-down menu displays video source resolution

When switching between inputs from the drop-down menu, each source now displays its resolution alongside the source name. Quick visual confirmation of what you’re switching to — helpful when running multiple cameras at different resolutions.

RAM and GPU usage monitoring

The Ultra now surfaces RAM and GPU usage in real time. For long-form productions or heavy workflows (multi-camera 4K + graphics + replay), you can see resource utilization at a glance and know before the device gets thermally stressed.

Redesigned Settings page — YoloCast, Bonding plans, and NDI status

The Settings page has been reorganized. Key changes:

• YoloCast section — YoloLiv’s own low-latency streaming service settings are now surfaced in the main Settings view
• Bonding plans — your cellular bonding subscription status and plan details are now visible in Settings
• NDI status — see NDI source availability and connection status without diving into sub-menus

The redesign makes it faster to see what’s happening across the streaming, bonding, and NDI subsystems from one place.

Safe Zone Area indicator

YoloBox Ultra now displays a Safe Zone Area overlay when composing shots — the region of the frame guaranteed to display on all viewer devices. Useful for productions targeting mixed platforms (YouTube’s frame safe zone differs slightly from Instagram Live’s, and both differ from TikTok Live). Compose within the safe zone and your important content stays visible everywhere.
