Why Stream to TikTok Using RTMP?

Make sure you have these four elements ready before starting.

Step-by-Step: How to Stream to TikTok Live from YoloBox

Let’s walk through the process from beginning to end.

Step 1: Install Streamlabs Desktop

First, download and install the desktop app from Streamlabs.

If you are new, create an account. Next, choose TikTok when asked to connect a streaming platform. Then, sign in with your credentials. If you already have an account, simply add TikTok under the Settings menu.

Step 2: Verify Your LIVE Access

Next, click Go Live inside Streamlabs.

Don’t worry if Streamlabs warns you that no video sources have been added. Since you’re not actually planning to stream from Streamlabs, it’s perfectly safe to continue.

At this stage, Streamlabs will verify whether your TikTok account has permission to broadcast live.

If your account hasn’t been approved yet, you’ll see a prompt asking you to request LIVE access. Simply follow TikTok’s approval process and wait until your account becomes eligible.

Once approved, the approval message will disappear, and you’ll be ready to move on to the next step.

Step 3: Open the Stream Key Generator

Now, let us retrieve your RTMP details.

Launch the TikTok Stream Key Generator that you downloaded earlier. The fields will look empty at first. This is completely normal.

Click Load From PC.

The tool automatically reads your login info from Streamlabs. Therefore, it will fill in your account details.

If the info does not load, click Load From Web instead. Specifically, this will open TikTok to refresh your login.

You could type the details manually. However, the Stream Key can be over 100 characters long. So typing it manually is not practical.

Fortunately, YoloBox offers an easier way. Tap Send the Link.

Then your YoloBox will send an email with a secure setup link. After that, open this email on your computer or phone. Click the link. This takes you to a webpage to set up your destination.

Step 6: Enter the Stream URL and Stream Key

On the setup webpage, give your new destination a recognizable name, such as TikTok.

Then return to the Stream Key Generator.

Copy the Stream URL and paste it into the Server URL field.

Next, copy the Stream Key and paste it into the corresponding field.

After verifying both values, click Send.

Do I need to keep Streamlabs running while streaming?

No.

Streamlabs is only used during the setup process to authenticate your TikTok account and help generate the RTMP credentials. Once TikTok has been added as a streaming destination in YoloBox, you can stream directly from your YoloBox without broadcasting through Streamlabs.

Why can’t I generate a stream key?

This usually means your TikTok account hasn’t been approved for LIVE streaming yet.

Before the Stream Key Generator can create an RTMP URL and stream key, it must detect that your account status is approved and that LIVE access is enabled.

Do I have to type the Stream Key manually?

Not at all.
