He designs TV studios and WebTV channels for companies and local governments. He specializes in IP video, trains professionals, writes for French trade press, and moderates panels at industry events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Lunel, a town between Montpellier and N\u00eemes, he co-founded TV Lunel. It is an independent local channel covering the town&#8217;s news, economy and community life. Gilbert calls it a pop-up TV studio. The idea is to bring a real studio to where the stories are, instead of bringing guests to a studio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That comes with tough constraints:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No power.<\/strong> Cables across a busy public terrace are a safety and logistics problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Limited space and crew.<\/strong> Every extra camera means another tripod, operator and setup step.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Real broadcast standards.<\/strong> Multiple angles, clean audio, and a show that stays live.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not about filming someone with a camera. Gilbert&#8217;s kit for the day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Canon XA60 and Canon LEGRIA HF G50 camcorders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A JVC camera for an extra angle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A webcam pointed down the boulevard for an ambient shot<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two wireless microphones, one for the host and one for the guest<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A mobile router for the live connection<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>YoloBox Extreme<\/strong> at the center, switching, recording and streaming<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Everything ran on batteries. Nothing was plugged into the caf\u00e9&#8217;s sockets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"five-angles-from-two-cameras\">Five angles from two cameras<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Gilbert used YoloBox Extreme&#8217;s Replicate and Crop functions to turn two Canon camcorders into five shots. He set up two framings of the host, two of the guest, and one two-shot of both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That gave the live edit the rhythm of a much bigger production. He did it without extra cameras, tripods or operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Two cameras no longer means only two shots.&#8221; \u2014 Gilbert Wayenborgh <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>His tip for anyone trying this: frame your source shots a little wider. If you can, shoot 4K for a 1080p program, so the crops keep their sharpness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"five-hours-on-set-half-the-battery-left\">Five hours on set, half the battery left<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In a separate session, Gilbert ran YoloBox Extreme from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with no external power. He recorded six segments, each capturing the program feed plus four HDMI sources. At the end, the battery still showed about 50%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Five hours of production and half the battery still available. That seriously changes how you think about a mobile control room.&#8221; \u2014 Gilbert Wayenborgh <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>He ran everything in 1080p on purpose. His method is to validate a stable workflow first, then add more demanding settings step by step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"record-everything-fix-it-in-post\">Record everything, fix it in post<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>YoloBox Extreme records the live program and each camera feed separately (ISO recording). For a weekly interview show, that is a safety net. The live cut is ready to publish right away, and the isolated feeds are there if a shot needs fixing in editing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The live stream to YouTube held steady across his productions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a-control-room-that-fits-in-a-backpack\">A control room that fits in a backpack<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For Gilbert, the biggest change is mobility. Multicam used to mean switchers, monitors, recorders, an audio desk and a power supply. Now the heart of his control room fits in a backpack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;I can set up a control room on a terrace, record multiple sources, direct a show, stream it to YouTube, and leave with the essentials of my kit in a backpack.&#8221; \u2014 Gilbert Wayenborgh <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>That matters for local TV.
